I love you because you reply to my posts with wonderfully thought out answers! Thank you :) I completely agree with what you say, we do have a very distinct culture despite what many people think, particularly back in the 19th century. x
Thankyou (again!) And you’re right, far too many people think that America and Britain are two very similar cultures, but there’s an entire world of difference between our attitudes and outlooks… Gosh, I really like this subject, I think I’ll write an essay.

I’m finishing off an essay and I just wrote that Christina Hendricks’ popularity is in part due to a trend for red hair and pale skin found in Pre-Raphaelite paintings.
Because Christina Hendricks’ popularity absolutely has nothing to do with her… assets.
(I still like her as an actress - Mad Men is fantastic.)

Natalie Portman got a BAFTA for Best Actress? Really?
You know how Tommy Wiseau in The Room is really overdramatic and cringey and takes himself too seriously? That’s how I feel about Natalie Portman.
I suppose the award was inevitable as there weren’t many films out in the last year with good female leads, but someone like Sally Hawkins is much more worthy.
BBC1 on a Sunday night is the best; Antiques Roadshow, Countryfile and then Lark Rise to Candleford.
And Patrick Grant was on Countryfile.
Nerd.
